ASME - student org here at PSU. get good tech magazines with membership
IEEE - good for both ME ands EE. Sign up for small groups that interest you. (i.e. Robotics and Automation society, Consumer Electronics Society)
ISA - Instrument Society of America - Good for ppl looking to get into industry. All about sensors, instruments, controllers. Need a student group here at PSU
All societies have student memberships so sign up early.
